Welcome to Home or Away Petcare
Home or Away Petcare is a family run business based just north or Winchester. The business was established in 2008 by Mel Webb and has grown into a full time business which all five members of the family help out in.
We also offer a dog grooming service for boarding dogs, operated by Mel, who is City and Guilds qualified in dog grooming at Chichester College.
At Home we look after dogs, small animals, rodents, reptiles and birds. Despite our family name we do not take spiders! In our garden we have cages and runs for rabbits and guinea pigs in an area which is fenced off from the dogs. In addition we have our own small menagerie of animals, comprising two dogs, a cat, five rabbits, a hamster and some fish. We recently lost our Giant African Land Snail, Alfie, at the age of seven. We are pet people!
Away from the home we also visit cats in their own homes and our gold star service gives them a bit of company in addition to basic feeding. We also visit garden based small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs. We also offer a chicken service where we can come and feed, let them out and put them to bed.
We do also offer a local walking service for dogs whose owners are out to work or play and we do offer a daycare service for dogs in our own home, but we do not offer a home visit service for dogs whose owners are on holiday though. Dog walking is usually offered as part of a social event with other dogs, but if you have specific requirements please feel free to discuss these with us.
We can help you with petcare if:
- You are out to work all day
- You have an old dog who needs a bit of gentle exercise
- You are going away on holiday or business
- You are going into hospital
- You need to get your pet to the vet during the day
